A Mauritius Holiday is a Delight for Anyone!
So this year you have decided that you are going take a Mauritius holiday – which in most people’s opinion is a wise move. Mauritius is a beautiful island in the Indian Ocean, not a great distance from Madagascar and part of a long archipelago including the Seychelles, Maldives and Reunion. The island has a great mix of cultures, including Indian, African and European – so you would expect it to excel with its cuisine and choice of restaurants. It is also home to rare tropical plant life, and anyone who enjoys plants and flowers will love the botanical gardens at Pamplemousses – which is home to more than 85 species of palm trees and giant water lilies. Mauritius is also famous for its rum production, which is derived from local molasses – a bi-product of the sugar industry. The most famous of the rum brands is Green Island, which remains the most prolific of the of the island’s exports.
